Hi,
Wonder if somebody can help.
Sat drove up north stopped the car 4hrs later to discover that the dash is not working any more. The speed and rev counters have stopped working, the odometer has gone blank, the red gear change indicator is on permanently, the low coolant indicator is on, and the backlight is on all the time - even when i switch the engine off and take the keys out. Any ideas?
Do you think its a faulty sensor somewhere or water has got in and buggered something? I'm not even sure what to search for on here. Looked in the FAQ and there was nothing obvious.
Thanks.

I don't think it's all that unusual for water to get in - seen a few posts showing condensation forming!
You could try re-setting the unit (something like 30 cycles of the ignition), or try removing the fuse for a while

There is some facility to reset the dashboard, something to do with pressing the button on the steering column shroud. Can't remember what it is (holding for 15 seconds or something) but would be worth a search unless somebody else has a better idea.

well a first for me in 3 yrs.
There was a little condensation on the speedo dial for a while but that disappeared overnight.
While searching around i've just seen people mention the reset button adjusting the brightless of the backlight :s
i'll search on ECU reset and see what come up.

pull out the no. 8 (battery fuse) and pop it back in, all sorted.
