Just had the tyres replaced on the car from Toyo R1R to Yokohama AD08. Wow, the car feels like new. rallly Admitidly the Toyo were running low and were degraded due to age, but what a difference. Happy customer! :D Anyone else on these?

What size did you go for on the front? When I next need a full set of types I plan to go for ad08.

I was looking at these but couldnt get much feed back on them and hence on Friday a set of R1R's turned up for my spare wheels. Would be interested to know how they fair when used in anger and with a little water on the road. Keep us posted. They also work out cheaper than the Toyo's so sounds like a result all round.

How old were your R1Rs?! Thought they were quite a new tyre?

Think JL37 had a set of these? And really rates them

Just bought a set of these attached to new TD's for £1025 all in from Demon Tweeks - pretty good price I reckon!

Just a quick one. Went out in the car today in torrential rain and the tyres felt very competent. Just the trackday test to go now. Roll on Anglessey. :0)

My mate just fitted a set of these to his Clio 200. We took it to Knockhill on a Renaultsport track day and were really impressed. It was very wet in the morning and we did have our doubts about using them compaired to the std Continental tyres that the car came with. However we were seriously impressed with the wet grip. Even when the track started to dry out and it went through the greasy stage the tyres coped really well. In the dry we were just as quick as a guy who was running a new set of 888r's who does loads of trackdays. This was my first in 14 years and my mates in 3 years. I am very tempted to get a set for the VX. They did make the Clio's ride quite hard due to the stifness of the sidewalls. How do you find them on the VX ride wise and what pressures are you using?

I've not optimised the tyre pressures yet as still scrubbing in. Have found that ride feels firmer, but somehow more comfortable. Oddly feels the stiffness of the tyres is making the suspension work better. Slightly less communication through the steering wheel over Bridgestones, but then the width difference is massive. They are far pointier, turn in hugely improved and can place the car more precisely.

Are you running std suspension on the car? I have Kuhmo KU31's in 205 width at the moment but they are not the extra load tyres and the front seems quite floaty under braking with a direction change thrown in. Wondering if its shocks or tyres....

Completely standard tubby suspension, which appears to be in good working order. I had KU31s on my old n/a with standard suspension, and that felt ok - although had a much more aggressive geometry setup.

As said above, it's pretty firm. rallly
Can feel every bump in the road.
There is a section of the M62 i was on yesterday between MAnchester and the M6 where the bumps really are quite shocking (pardon the pun).
As for pressures 24F 26R but I'm keen to experiment.
Only done a few miles on them so far; due to being out of the country for the first month they were on the car.
Any suggestions for pressures that others are running would be great.

Thanks. chinky chinky

Are you definitely not comparing the AD08s to Toyo T1Rs rather than R1Rs? Just seems odd that you think the R1Rs, which as stated earlier, are a new tyre, had degraded due to age

Went to order some AD08's today but the 205 45 16's are out of stock till the end of July. They do have 205 50 16's but i think the 45's would be better? Getting them for a price that I couldnt refuse thumbsup
