Being a bit bored with my standard looking VX, I'm debating some vinyl to add a bit of charachter and individuality to it once I've sorted out a couple of mechanical niggles (geo defo needs doing).

Heres what I have in mind (drawn up in Forza Motorsport 4's vinyl creator)

You'll have to ignore the black hardtop, the VX is modelled into the game so that it is a fixed black hardtop whatever colour of the car you choose. Also, the V and wind screen surround can't be painted, they'd me be going matte black like the other vinyl stuff. It also doesn't letyou paint standard wheels so I put on some similar to the NA.

Is it all a bit OTT? If it isn't OTT enough, I was debating red vauxhall and VX220 badges too.

Let the slating commence!

The wings or the BoT bit? (Edit - I doubt the nameand flag will get in there although the names do look good on other cars I've seen in the flesh)

What gave me the inspiration was this http://www.boltje.co...ter-2-2-turbo/# after I came accross the guys profile on here. Having spoken to him, he's now painting it some sort of liquid orange so I'm tempted to recreate it with a few tweaks (blue rim tape on the black wheels will definitely be happening though  )

In the second and third pics, I think the black looks too bold in contrast with the blue. The stripes in the first pic look better. thumbsup

Thats just me playing around with the photo effects, the lighting in the new game makes it hard to get good pictures. But it would all be done in Satin Black vinyl and I'm guessing you can just buy one of those BoT side ones as I've seen them on a few cars.

EDIT - Taken from the site I mentioned above, this is the car that inspired me.

I actually like the idea of the black hartop with black "wings" and the surround and roll bar would top it off. Makes it look Koeniseggey.

No idea if people call them 'wings', just couldn't think of anything better ha.
I did want to try painting the roll bar cover black too, but whatever you paint on it, it projects it onto the panels below it so I left it as it is now but I might continue to play around to get some shots with a black roll bar cover but just angle the camera so you can't see under neath the roll bar. Having just a plain black hard top would allow me to firstly, buy that black OEM thats up for sale now and would save putting stripes on the roof (unless I got a black roof withcontrasting stripes like the lip spoiler B) )

Perhaps distant relatives tehn!Boyd was a nickname picked up in my mid teens. People I've met since my mid teens and don't know said story just call me pricey.
I had a letter come through a couple months ago advertising the number plate.... PI2ICEY - £7,995. Which is cheaper than I'd have put it at myself.

I'm unsure on them, but given the lower half of my front clam is dotted with chips already, It will need respraying before I bother with some stone guards.

Enjoy doing all the mods. I spent 2 years of changing my car. Thinking about it, make some drawings, but your drawing with forza is fantastic.
The black Vinyl, I had this matt black. I think it's better then the glossy.

The roof, I wanted to make it black but i was not sure about it. It looks nice on the drawing, but for real? I don't know.

The decal on the rim is from a motorcycle. One set will fit the car. Most motorcycles have 16 or 17 inch so you can get them at any motorcycle shop.

good luck, have fun. As told, mine will be chrome orange at the end of this year. So a new project for me. Maybe the same stripes again.
Or something totaly different.

Martin

(for those not knowing, the blue speedster mentioned by vx boyd is mine).

I would be tempted to do mid nineties Williams f1. Perhaps even with sonic legs on the door
