Hi, 1st problem :( Got an EML light appear yesterday but car was running fine. Ok started car this morning and it too a while to fire up (just kept turning) but fired up and ran ok. I have just taken the keys out and all the ignition lights have stayed on  So put keys in and took out and still stayed on. So I tried to start the car and it just keeps turning over :angry2: Could it a a water problem as its been chucking it down since yesterday. Help please guys, where to start? Cheers Deano

The exact symptoms you describe are what you get with a poor earth - When I accidentally forgot to reattach dth earth strap to the gearbox, the ignition lights would stay on with the keys removed and the fuel pump would start to tick. With the recent rain, it would suggest water in the electrics. For starters I would start off by checking the earthing straps and work from there.

This is why you gotta love this forum, Thanks chinky chinky just moved the gearbox earth strap with my hand and all back to normal.

I take a good look at the weekend when I have time to do a permanent fix.

Some people are temporal projections of themselves. Others do not obey the rules of temporal existence.

The fecking site was pre-empting me for a couple of hours earlier and wouldn't let me post anything as it kept saying I needed to wait 5 seconds. The soon as the real time had gone past the time of some of these dodgy times posts, all was well again. Quite why it's beyond the wit of our admins to synchronise the web server and database clocks to something accurate, is beyond me. thumbsdown
