Luckily traffic stops us 3 going to quickly which enables Thorney to stay in range for video footage
Wasn't it just fantastic! ?
What Mick says is true, we were very evenly matched – which made it even more fun
More, Thorney, more!
So, who's coming next Whit?

I doubt it Derek. He was braking from 150+. Completely missed the apex too. I think it was a case of I will get passed this damned Vauxhall, even if I run out of trackJohn...did that Porsche brake test you at the end of Porsche chasing?

I don't think so, if you look at the track that was pretty much his braking point for the straight. He was pretty determined not to let me past but that was the rule on the day, no-one was epxected to let you past so you had to fight Some of his lines were a bit weird but I put that down to the fact he was more concerned on his mirrors than on the track ahead, if he'd let me past a bit earlier he'd have enjoyed it more I reckon.John...did that Porsche brake test you at the end of Porsche chasing?
Remember this wasn't a UK trackday, if we'd (either of us) had done this on a UK day we'd have been black flagged straight away

You wouldn't at Knockhill. They encourage it Probably one of the reasons I felt so at home at Hockenheim, the driver briefing was almost the same, word for word... although in English obviously.Remember this wasn't a UK trackday, if we'd (either of us) had done this on a UK day we'd have been black flagged straight away

Don't I know it.......I was stuck behind a Porsche at the Sytner track day at Knockhill and he wasn't indicating to let me past despite me flashing and having to ease off on the straights and brake much earlier.....I overtook on the right and was quite rightly black flagged but got off lightly with a warning. It was stupid of me to break the rules.Remember this wasn't a UK trackday, if we'd (either of us) had done this on a UK day we'd have been black flagged straight away
It was fun flashing the Diablo to get past as he wrestled with the corners.
It was humerous to watch the advanced group go out and several got black flagged and never bothered to come in.......

nicely done videos, but such a different style of track driving than I'm used to on the Nurburgring. Try that 3 abreast stuff or slipsteaming/overtaking like in the Porsche chasing vid, and get out the checkbook for lots of armco, or a coffin :/OK, here are the other videos of Hockenhiem......

The flying lap was cool, but constructive criticism - put the captions in smaller font, at the bottom of the picture, distracts from the great track/driving action!
Is the camera car a turbo?
thanks for the links, not a great video for newcomers headed to the NR to emulate, but brings back great memories from driving a Speedster on the Ring

Precisely – that's why I like Hockenheim.such a different style of track driving than I'm used to on the Nurburgring. Try that 3 abreast stuff or slipsteaming/overtaking like in the Porsche chasing vid, and get out the checkbook for lots of armco, or a coffin :/
