I can safely say to anybody in Scotland that if you haven't driven on a circuit before and are a bit apprehensive about it (I was), then the knockhill 1 hr instruction course is well, well worth it. I was there last night (in thick fog and on a soaking wet track) and it was fecking brilliant :groupjump: got some pics, i'll post em tomorrow. now i cant wait to get back there B)

pics tomorrow chaps (i didnt bring my camera to work). Did 2 laps then pits to talk about what i was doing right and what i was doing wrong. Then sasha did a slow lap on the right lines etc and then a lap showing all the common mistakes that people and then a fast lap to show the difference. Then I did twenty laps with a break in teh middle, again to talk about fine-tuning the technique. All in all? Absolutely f***ing brilliant. Top Marques night 6th June, I'll be there. I must admit to being a bit nervous before I went out but it was really, really enjoyable and once i started warming up and getting some more confidence in the car, getting the right lines, i just got smoother and smoother, and faster and faster. That car is so much better than I am! poof

Yeah it's great. Don't be put off by bad weather, it was foul there last night and i still had a blast. highlight was whipping a guy doing the Ferrari Challeneg. the 355 sounded fantastic on the straight but he was very nervous round the corners...

alright lee? as you know, ive been toying with the idea of a track day thing since i got the car last year. but you know cause my drivings perfect and that  , my only worry would be that someone else got it wrong and took me out. :beat: ps how much do they charge for the tuition (not that i need it or anything, its just a mate was asking me) :D ? and is the track busy? didnt look it, but mind you that was maybe the weather.

£95 for 1-on-1, 25 laps. Can take anything from 45 minutes to an hour an half depending on how many questions you ask. I was just over an hour on track. Track was quiet the night I was there but weather was pish. VXT Elise Impreza 355 Alfa 156 Knockhill's a short circuit but with only 5 cars there was tons of room. iain

IIRC the tuition is £90 for an hour, which initially seems expensive (especially compared to the first lotus day at £150) but I think captains experience make it seem cheap! I'm going at 6pm today and I can't wait ! Will post my thoughts when i get back and stop shaking ! .....only thing is the weather isn't as nice as I was hoping thumbsdown

Good luck mate. Don't worry about the weather, even in soaking conditions the track surface is really grippy. As i said, i lost it once at the hairpin but that was completely my fault and i was pissing about. Let us know how you got on and post some pics! Hopefully the 355 will be out and you can have the satisfaction of thrashing it in the twisties and then get the full sound of it coming past on the straight. lovely stuff.
