Found a nice little set of trackdays at Donnington thru a BTCC flyer last weekend. They are only £80 if booked in advance and you can get a discount if 12 or more people book together :D

Suggest - 2nd Nov (but there are others - 30 Nov/7/14/28 Dec.) all sundays
Cost £79.50 in advance, £99.50 on the day(if space)
Passengers/extra drivers £20
Format is 9-5pm, 3 groups, run in 20 min sessins, hour for lunch.... (but it might be run as open pit depending on numbers)
check out http://www.donington.co.uk/trakzone/

Any takers?? rally rally :D :D

I've heard a few things about these Trakzone events (not all good) so I'll check it out and report back.

Here is a post from Seloc - http://forums.seloc....ad.php?tid=7487

They did a trakzone day last month. Seems there were 40 cars per session which is a bit busy for Donnington, also the drivers signin and brief was a cockup and people got onto the track late. But everyone enjoyed it :D

If you think its not one for us Thorney, then we're all behind you Imnotworthy

I've done one (albeit a while ago) and it wasnt the place for beginners or novices. Lots of traffic and impatient people and there were quite a few near misses. Unless its changed (and I'll dig about to make sure) it wouldn't be one I;d go for personally.

I went to one of these events last year and won't be doing it again. Each to their own, but the driving standards made it too risky for me. I'd rather pay a bit more and go to an organised event with someone like Bookatrack which is well marshalled. I did see a certain RS4 driver get reprimanded at Donington earlier this year for discourteous driving. My comments on another thread about not needing track insurance are dependant on the event being courteous and well marshalled... Paul

So is that a no then? It seemed ideal -reasonable price, decent track and on a weekend. Am I ever going to get on a track day? :(

Plenty of weekend dates around. Hethel (Lotus factory) on 11 October for £149 Anglesey on 25 October for £119 Anglesey on 26 October for £119 Cadwell Park on 2 November for £129 (Cadwell is fab - I could well be tempted) Donington 16 November for £149 Mallory Park on 22 November for £129 All from Bookatrack. There will be more with Easytrack et al... Doesn't have to be a flash GP circuit to have fun in a VX... I'm pretty tempted by Cadwell and Donington. It doesn't have to be a no for you, just I wouldn't do it! Cheap track days tend to attract more lunatics and nutters and these events haven't been well marshalled, which for me makes the risks too high... Also a few airfield days around which can be great fun to learn the car (as many discovered yesterday!) Paul

I never said it was you. However, the sight of five RS4s gang raping a Caterham was scary!

Trackzone is owned by Donington Park - my next door neighbour goes on them with his elise and reckons they are fine. Only difficulty seems getting i if you are not driving as they have banned spectators (according to him). Will try and gatecrash the next one as I live very close to Dono circuit and report back. cheers
