I popped into TMS @ MK this morning to get a stage 2 remap. I already had a Blue Flame exhaust fitted since I decided to skip the stage 1 and my budget was a little constrained. While I obviously wanted more power from my VX but I was looking for a smoother power curve too. The infamous dip between 3,000 and 4,000 rpm was really intrusive in my car and the engine felt breathless over 5,000 rpm. On the track you spend the majority of the time in the upper rev range so the car's blushes are spared but on the road these foibles *really* bugged me. OH MY GOD. What a difference the remap makes thumbsup As so many people have already said this is how the car should have been setup in the first place. Now the car acts like it is supercharged, making more and more power progressively as the revs climb. The power doesn't fall off between 3,000 and 4,000 rpm and the engine pulls all the way to the redline. Thorney's website tells no lies and the car accelerates in each gear as though you're actually a gear lower. From 2,000 rpm the car takes off and goes mental when it hits 4,000 rpm. Comparing the Blue Flame exhaust system to the Milltek is interesting. It turns out the Milltek is freer flowing, most likely due to the cheaper cat you get with Blue Flame's system. For £660 the system cannot be beaten on price but for ultimate performance the Milltek cars hold 1 or 2 psi extra boost and overboost again by an extra 1 or 2 psi. The fit is a little off on the Blue Flame as Thorney noticed the pipes exit the rear clam slightly to the left. I hadn't noticed this but cannot stop staring at it now (cheers mate :P ) Overall I was well impressed with the new facilities and over the moon with the remap. Many thanks to all involved thumbsup -- Andy

Sounds very familiar, agree with all that! Its a great experience, isn't it? :P But it doesn't take long before you start to think about what stage 3 can offer... :D

Hi, I'm on the prowl for info as I'm stepping forth to begin modding my Vxt You say you've had a TMS stage 2(minus the exhaust), Is the cost of this the same as a stage 1 or do you have to pay for a stage 1 then a stage 2 ? I'm thinking of going down the route of a replacement exhaust & am trying to get all the facts/prices that are involved, would you recomend the Blue flame or think the extra is worth paying for the Miltek ? thanks  :D
