who has had the extra door seals fitted please put a picture of it's cross section up please?

With a bit of luck >>these people<< (that PaulCP mentioned) will have something that is similar that we can use - rather than paying Vauxhall loads of money for the same thing...

Cheers

Bengie, When you mean seals do you mean window seals or the plastics sills that you climb over to get in the car? I am certainly interested in some Turbo doors sills if anyone knows of a company that can replicate them at a cost far cheaper than the Vauxhall ones :) John.

Benny, my vx doesnt leak so I'm loathed to play too much with the seals but I do get loads of wind noise from the front of the windscreen. This stops if I lift the seal away from teh glass slightly. (from the inside obviously!) Does that strip thingy in the second picture lower wind noise? Was it a warrenty jobby? (my vx nearly at 3 yr point)

Like I said, I'm scared to touch it!

I figured "older" vx would be a good buy coz someone else should have sorted all the probs out..........

turns out that there will always be problems but I thank the good lady for sorting most of them!!

It made no difference to the wind noise on my VXT.

Was it a warrenty jobby? (my vx nearly at 3 yr point)

Yup. It's fiddly to fit apparently - my dealer said they weren't planning to do any more of them.

I rather gathered it was a global 'fix' as opposed to a 'warranty' job. I'd still be insisting on the work being done If I was out of warranty. The car had a design defect - they've now cured it. Surely all the cars should be due this leak 'cure' ;)

Benny_H: That's the one, in your 2nd photo cheers Sicey: It's an extra seal that's supposed to help stop water coming in via the door mirrors (IIRC) I think Wayne said that you'd be charged a stupid amount to have them fitted by VX. These people might also do some glue stuff that works better than the stuff that VX use.
