Anyone had the opertunity to drive the new Jap spec (or even UK spec) Integra TypeR 220bhp on tap, and some trick suspension sounds like fun

I test drove a UK spec one but I think it was 200bhp...very nice drivers cars. My best mate owns a black T plate Integra and i've had several passenger rides in it and I really like it. My final list before buying a VXT was - Integra Type R, Elise, VXT or S2000. I was in his on Saturday and with no aircon, no soft top the car was like an oven. He really wants a VX incidentally :D Great cars though and the engine is bomb proof. Is that picture a new integra? It looks different to the ones I've seen and looks more like an accord type R?!?!?!?

Not me, but my tame typer R techie who used to service my ITR at Brindleys in West Brom tracked one round Suzuka at the launch. Not as raw as the original ITR, and a bit less hooligan. A better road car but so much fun was the summary. More CTR/ATR than Mk1 ITR in essence. You'd hate it mate. No acceleration.

I'm seriously considering a previous shape ITR as the next car (I need something a bit more London friendly, if I choose to move back into the smoke). I'm sure someone here has owned one in the past - any good? Anything to look out for? Oh - any chance of getting one with A/C, as it's pretty much essential in a hard top... All thoughts appreciated. (Or suggestions for a sub 10k 'good' car - it's got to look alright, have a reasonable image, and not send me to sleep.) Dan

Dan, I wrote this 'end of term report' when my ITR went back last year. It describes what its like to live with. Hope it helps.
