My biggest concern with externally mounted kit is impact damage off gravel and stuff. I was thinking about constructing some sort of foam enclosure, crude but effective.looks good skiddo - that tow eye cam would produce excellent footage but you 'd have to have some serious faith in the mount!
Not so sure I'd trust it myself.

In that case, take a look at >RF Concepts<. They have loads of small cameras that attach to your camera via long cables. That link takes you to the bit about attaching them to helmets but gives a broad taste of the stuff they sell. Again, I've not used them but they seem to do it all..Surely pencil cams with analogue feed via a long cable to the camera safely inside the car is the way to go.
