Heya Folks,

Does anyone happen to have a Europa M32 gearbox mount lying around that they could dust off for me?

I'd be interested in getting some accurate dimensions, and some clear photos of the mount from several angles... sufficiently clear etc so that I'd be able to replicate it :) And if someone asks nicely, I could probably whip up a couple.

Cheers

Ed

If it's of any use, I believe the Lotus Europa has an OEM part that does this (please double check that I am right before buying one though).

Tat-concept (france) seems to have made one/a couple several years ago, but that website is long dead (emailed him anyway). That's the only source I've otherwise dug up.

Ahhh... I obvioulsy havent been around here Long enough. Anyway, apparently his car is in parts, and some guy was looking at replicating his currently disassembled mount, but phil isn't sure where that's at. He's going to chase the bloke up, and see what's going on. Cheers Ed

this part is obsolete, best bet is to try and find a used item thumbsup

ps: not sure which engine you have but I have an OEM (z22se) M32 dual mass flywheel, M32 clutch plate and M32 cover for sale thumbsup

Some owners do not like the clutch chatter that a lightened M32 flywheel gives, I personally don't care, but others have removed the M32 gearbox because of the noise at tickover.

This is not a good idea to swap a M32 gearbox on a VX220 !

I do it ,but I regret my F23 gearbox !

With 100 Bhp in addition on the engine an the M32 gearbox, I have today the same performance on 1/4 mile run with the F23 !

This M32 is slower than F23 gearbox

:tt:

Gearboxes ratios for drag racing is an entirely unique topic. A 2sp auto would go quicker

I prefered the M32 box all round tbh Was fine for many repeated 1/4 mile runs 11.3 was at 316bhp DG spec 😊 The F23 been a bit taller in the lower gears does almost even out the differences but for me M32 all the way I made some brackets myself for the m32 conversion I did with Astra vxr engine and box on standalone into an n/a DG

This is not a pb of gear ratio but of gear change speed.

M32 is 1/10 - 1/15 s slower than F23  for each gear change.

(measure done with accelerometer evrything been equal)

in reality the bolt pattern is totally different and the F23 mount is completely the wrong shape and size to fit.

ps: that is a vectra adaptor mount bolted to the M32, which also doesn't fit the vx220, you need the astra H adaptor mount.

yeah, the Astra H Adapter, sure, but you then need the unobtanium Europa gearbox Mount, which makes the whole thing rather pointless as you need to make a completely new Mount anway, so the starting Point/existing gearbox adapter is rather irrelevant.

that Vectra just struck me as disturbingly similar to the F23 Mount pattern... at least it appears in the same ballpark
