Vx220 Na - Cat D - Cosmetic Front Clam - 53,000K - £5,900

My lovely, low mileage, well cared for, no mods, X-reg (2000) 2.2 NA has had a bit of a bump on the front end (at about 10mph) and, as is common knowledge, many of these cars get written off very easily because of the hassle of sourcing OEM bits through insurance. It's just the front clam that needs replacing and this can be done with a very nice after-market for around £800 all in. Unfortunately I do not have the time to put in to it but I would love to see it back on the road so that someone can have as much fun as I have in it. 

I bought the car for £9,250 with full service history it has never missed a beat in my ownership, no play in the steering, great power delivery and has been well cared for with a recent 2016 service, bodywork and interior in good condition and healthy tires all round. I'm looking for £6,800 and with access to a decent repair for around £800 hopefully that leaves someone with a great running car for much less than the sort of money I had to spend to get one of this standard. 

Car is currently garaged in Norfolk but I can also get it to London for serious interest and can be driven away no problem.

Except it looks like your passenger side headlight is about to fall out in your last photo.

It's not a cat D

Ah, my bad Nev. The description suggests that the car is being sold in leu of an insurance claim. This may not be the case

Thanks for feedback everyone, definitely a cat D I'm no expert on these cars to be honest just going on the cost of a Lotus Hardtops new clam and self fitting. http://www.lotushard...m-assembly.html although I must admit I thought that included paint which on closer inspection it looks like it doesn't so I can take into account on the price.

For further clarification. Is this a Cat D from this incident or from a previous one? 

if it's a previous one, could you describe the damage and repair?

if it's this one, I assume you have bought it back from the insurance company and are selling it on?

After some very helpful advice from other members I've found that the cost of a decent paint job will probably around the same as the clam again so with that in mind I have revised the price to £5,900
