I suppose my new car wont be any good there then as would be ideal as a try out? R1 engined Striker with a foam filter, exhaust is pretty quiet but induction noise would probably get me removed.

What car you got now Mr Fox?

Completely standard 42k, Rab NA. Apart from the VSE!  Don't recognise it as a forum car unless anyone here knows anything about it! Build # 3999.

Done Bedford a number of time with a standard NA and VSE. No issues ever.

mmm Interesting, how long ago?  Might save some skin on my knuckles!  But I do plan to remove the pre-cat and sort out the engine mounts whilst i'm under there changing the exhaust - If time permits!

Thanks for all the input/advice.

Hmm looks like it's not the full GT layout anymore... SEN instead. Looking at teh map it misses out the first few corners of the GT layout which is a shame.

Well that's buggered it! Spent all day faffiing around with the car and trying to get it to Bedford tomorrow. But now ther is oil everywhere! Jobs done: Updated HCBs New Drop links Serviced the brakes New plugs Air filter Oil and filter Tried to swap out the VSE for a modified std. box. Not enough time to complete as the cat section flange is buggered by iron worm. I was going to risk going to Bedford with the VSE until I noticed the oil pissing out all over the floor! I haven't looked yet but I assume it's from the oil filter housing seals. Done about 50 miles this afternoon and the oil level is just at the bottom of the dip stick. The lid of the housing didn't want to come free from the body when changing the filter. I think I tightened everything up well enough, but can't believe that so much oil would squeeze through the two flat housing seals. Or am I missing something? Are these seals available from anywhere? I did change the o ring seal in the lid once I got it free from the body. Will try an have a good look underneath the car tomorrow - if I can face it, had enough of it for one day! Ant thoughts/advice appreciated. Thanks.

So do I need to get some of these? https://www.ebay-kle...90482-223-17114 Is this the only place they are available? I've searched .org and I'm surprised I got the housing off so easily! Could I have inadvertently fcuked something else? As I said before, the amount of oil that has pissed out is a bit worrying. Never had these problems 10 years ago!

http://www.vx220.org...-6#entry1901041 If the oil filter is the only thing you've done then it's almost a certain it's to do with those pesky gaskets

Might be worth a plea on the forum to see if any friendly members lives near Bedford and have spare seal rings, and you can fix the car on the day?

Although... I probably wouldn't drive the car at all until fixed!
