When I insured the Evora with HT Matt told me that 6 days of track cover were included and unlimited extra days could be added for £25 each. I later added the VX to the policy. I took both cars to Anglesey last weekend and booked cover for both. On Monday (after the event) Matt emailed me to say that I'd used all my allowance so wasn't covered. I had used 5 days. I can now buy extra cover - 3 days for 220 or 5 for 330. Matt tells me that the underwriters can do this as there are no written Ts and Cs, just an endorsement to the policy. Am I right to feel somewhat dissatisfied about this?

I think you are right yes, not great is it.

I have just taken a policy out with HT and was a little bit surprised at the lack of an insurance certificate & tc's you are sent.  I told Matt about all my modifications over the phone but have nothing in writing from them for proof.  If I needed to claim I wouldn't have a leg to stand on if they said I had undeclared mods and wouldn't pay out.

All the important stuff has been confirmed by email so I would hope if push came to shove my ass would be covered...but I could do without yet another legal battle. I recommend that you confirm all your details in an email to Matt.

6 included and £25 each for as many as you want is what they told me.

If that's the case that's p*ss poor. I wonder if someone rang for a new quote what the line would be.

Cheers Foxy, will be getting mine confirmed in writing. Too risky not to.

I emailed a list of modifications and a signed valuation from a lotus /vx specialists stating what It would be worth to replace. Along with 6 photos of the car. Contacted Matt 3 days before about a track day and I ended up being a dick and needing to claim after. Long story short, Matt came through for me and backed my claim even when ERS told me I didn't have agreed value. Make sure you have everything written up in email and you'll do fine. As for the extra cost in track day, I'd say that's out of Matt's hands and not something he wanted either. Give him a call and see what's what.

You're right, strictly speaking it's not of Matt's doing and I'm sure he doesn't want to be in this position. However, nobody forced him to say it's 6 track days and £25 for extras... ...and If I'd have needed to claim after Anglesey we'd be having some very awkward conversations. I've discussed this extensively with Matt by email and they're (ERS and HT) not budging. I'm a man of principles and this is a poor show IMO.

I'll be shopping around next year if this is the case, last few years I've kept renewing because there's been no need to.

I've also found Hendersons a bit woolly too, and make a point of confirming everything important by email rather than phone.

Never understood this lack of written confirmation of terms and conditions - always felt a little uncomfortable with it. I cannot remember what my trackday cover situation was as I just did a renewal so assumed it was the same as last time - which I thought was unlimited UK and 5 Euro ones.

Anyway - not going to use my entitlement this year as I will be canceling the insurance in just over a month.

oh...just checked my emails and noticed this:

Your policy comes with 5 UK and EU trackday insurance.

I have a very comprehensive e mail to HT with a confirmation mail in return. It's in writing that way, they can't go back on it (I hope). I was told 6 track days in January this year, didn't ask about extra.

I've just got a copy of my policy , I noticed that under endorsement G31 , trackday cover the list of circuits seems a bit odd, it also lists some TDO's, but not LoT
