Rear Caliper Not Releasing

I have tried the search function but achieved nothing so apologies if this is already on here somewhere. My rear Caliper is sticking, have taken out pads, cleaned and wound in cylinder and re fitted, but after a couple of pumps on the middle pedal it is still holding quite a grip on the right rear. Any suggestions as to what this might be and how to resolve it?

Maybe the handbrake? You can move the spring by hand to check.

Handbrake wasnt on when I tested it. Would this affect it?

You can try taking out and lubing the slider pin, but its likely that its the internal hand brake mechanism and / or piston that is sticking, which means taking the thing apart to clean etc. You might be easier getting it refurbished or a new caliper TBH..

Most likely the slider pins are worn/dirty/ etc

 

We might make these is a good quality stainless as it's a common issue.

Can't you dream up an aluminium caliper with handbrake.

it doesn't feel great on the slider pin so may strip this down, clean and go again. Any idea for which grease is best?

I can, but by the time you add in all the personal preferences i.e same piston area, AP's on the rear, cost, etc it is better to go down the route we have....

The grease is not worked as such but it does need to be stable at very high temperatures.

There is probably something made for this application I would guess.
