You can keep all your fancy engines. Without all the traction control systems, suitable suspension & beefed up drive shafts etc etc, you will be creating issues everywhere. Spend an extra £30k on a whole car that's been damaged. You'll spend that in no time trying to make it fit in a VX & sorting out problems, which you will fail at. The manufacturer would have spent millions on testing & designing out problems.

Then you can just strip off all the beautiful carbon, extruded & bonded aluminium body panels & chuck them. Bin the beautiful carbon & alcantara interior & finally refit your VX body over the top....Simples!

Or in Joe's case, buy a flymo hover mower. Have it 3D scanned, scale it up & print it out to form the bodywork. Oh yeah, add a lotus badge & drive it like a bell end. Joe, did you really have your teeth whitened to match the gold firewall in your car? That's hardcore!

This is a lotus Elise with a VX front end & a Ferrari V8 355 engine fitted. I think another engineer had too much Time on their hands! Lol

Did they solve the problem where it kept shearing the input shaft at random?

Pick an engine that does not differ too much in weight and size but brings the reliability amd more advanced performance and would argue all day it's better than a highly strung version of the oem lump ;)

Changing to inline may bring more issues?

My old original renault 5 gt turbo 1.8 20vt conversion is still on the original conversion / box / diff and other than turbo upgrade is now hill climbing with 350 bhp going strong. I got the spri gs / damper adjusted with the weight and power upgrade and they are still on also ;)

Over 50k miles covered and plenty of track, drag strip abuse :)
