What brands of plate LSD you use for the F23 ?
I've only seen the "gripper" one. I want to put one this winter, but don't know wich one for my VXT with track use only.

Random question that I imagine can be answered quickly......
There are 2 LSD's by quaife for the F23. One is specific for the VX the other is FWD and I believe it's down to the internal settings. Has anyone fitted an Astra one into a VX and is it OK? Spotted an astra one for cheap so thought I'd ask.
How cheap is cheap Matt?

That is correct.Plate diffs dont wear out quite as fast as people make out... Sure after 1K stage rally/race miles then yes they need a service, but on the road/keen track day, you'd get effectively a lifetime of use from it imho.
For a car that is used mostly on the street a good plate one will last longer then the vx without overhaul.
Or why should vauxhall install them as oem stuff in the corsa vxr cars?
Because they like warranty work on gearboxes?
Another advantage is that they can be modified for the designated use case.
You've neglected to think about the torque, most VX220s now produce way more torque than the 200 ft/lb that the F23 (and maybe the F23 plate diff) was designed for.
Ask Gripper what their guarantee is for one of their F23 diffs on a 260 ft/lb SC'ed F23 gearbox is - when you find out the answer, publish it on here...
The size of the diff housing will impact the diameter of the discs, newer gearboxes (designed for higher torque output) will be larger no doubt, which means the diffs can be stronger.... so comparing new gearboxes to to 20+ year old ones is not realistic. My bet is if you tuned your new Corsa VXR to add +xx% torque that Gripper/Vauxhall would not warrantee the diff any more...
