Possible New Owner (Anybody Know These Cars...)

Hi!!

 

I have been a member on this forum for years, but never quite got around to pulling the trigger.

 

I am finally in a position to have a Vx as a second car and have looked at a good example in Surrey;

 

Y839YMO - 70k miles, speedline wheels and a remap. drives well although needs some TLC

 

However just as I was about to pull the trigger I have seen the one on ebay;

NY52EWW looks in good condition however it has ITB fitted, surely the owner must have been on here? If so I'd like some more info as the guy said it had been running rough

 

Any help or advice would be appreciated

Rough running is usually either poorly balanced throttle bodies or poorly adjusted TPS

the vx220 itb owners list, so probably number 16 ?

Seems like it has done no miles since then, slightly concerned it was bought by the new owner at auction, surely these cars are worth much more privately

I have a yellow NA in that's in great condition for only a bit more than that.

The silver one was good actually was about 4 years ago I last saw it so assume it's been parked up.

The agreed price is a fair chunk less than the advertised price, its had the exhaust and wheels removed now. Worryingly had new disks and pads, so they've been replaced twice in 1500miles.

 

Was it serviced when sold?

Ooof no idea its a very long time ago!

Just to update this thread I went and got one. It's neither of the cars above but managed to get a stage 1 supercharged car. It's a 2001 with 70k, all original except the charger. New disks and pads all round and just had the charger serviced. Goes very well!
