Discovered this site when researching increased power from my engine. 20% more power and 20% less CO2, bet the oil companies snap it up and kill it.

Just like they killed the person who invented a car that runs on water, right?

This is not a new concept. Some of the largest ships in the world use camless engines, Koenigsegg has been pushing an example for years. Its success (or lack of) has nothing to do with anyone trying to kill it. It's cost. A camshaft is very, very cheap. All these options are not. They make their way into niche applications, but it is much more likely that manufacturers will decide to put their money into batteries to reduce CO2 rather than an unproven technology.

Not exactly plug and play if it does, The power needed to run it means you need a few hundred kilos of 48 v battery system

Wasn't there a design with a different valve? Kind of like a ball valve in plumbing. No issues with valve to piston clearance but a ball ache to seal.

Then there's the Nissan hydraulically actuated valve system. Not sure this has seen the light of day yet. Bakes my head as you'd need pressure in the system first.
