My ABS has always kicked in pretty early, even in the dry. I know this is common on VX and the ABS isn't great anyway.
I was wondering though, why do people fit 205/45 rather than 205/50 when going to 16" wheels.
If the standard size is 175/55/17 then from what I can tell from tyre size calculators, 205/50 is actually much closer to the same rolling radius as the OEM size. Wont the 205/50 be better for the ABS system?
Is it to do with the sidewall height being slightly more compared to the OEM for the 205/50 which has an effect on handling/turn in? It looks like it's only 5mm taller sidewall though than the OEM tyres?
I'm just about to order a set of AD08R, but for the front I can't decide on 205/50 or 205/45 as they come in both. 50 being close to OEM size would make sense if it's better for the ABS and it will also fill the front arch better than the 205/45 as well. I think it's about 2cm taller overall.
