Hello all and thanks for letting me be part of the family!

After a few years searching I finally bit the bullet and found a nice Opel Speedster I could call my own.

If your curious, its from 2002 and its number is 0607, and has only done 35k kms. I have just brought it back with the misses from A Coruña which is a 1000km drive. Yeah, it was fun and painful at the same time!

My intention with this car is to do a few slight mods, and of course, go Supercharged.

The guy whom sold me the car was really nice, had a full maintenance history, and only modifications I think it has been through is the exhaust.

I hope you guys like it, here a few pics. And feel free to let me know what you think, and if you have any tips I'll be more than welcome to hear them.

And once again thanks for letting me in, all the best,

Jake

Thanks for the welcoming mate.

I have no complaints on the location no... hehe

I'm going to give the car a good cleaning this weekend as the interior is filthy. After that we will probably go for a ride, as we have a small group of mixed people and cars, and will take some shots of the car now its on the Island.

I have realized that some people have aluminium window winder handles, contrary to mine that are plastic. Is this a year difference or is it solely the Turbo that came with the upgraded interior?

Thanks for any info and/or responses.

Drive safe,

Jake

Silver aluminium window winders are the same standard fit across all models bar the VXR 220 that had them anodised in black. If yours are different it means someone chnaged them for some reason.

Noted. Must have been nicked or something and they replaced with the plastic ones.

I will see if I can source the original ones then. Anyone here have a pair? hehe

Drive safe!

Sorry I stand corrected, never seen plastic ones before. Must be an Opel thing as pretty sure all UK cars I’ve ever seen had them as standard.

I’ve got a spare alu handbrake handle if you’re interested. Try a PM to forum member ElizP987 who may have the winders or stick up a wanted ad if you did want an upgrade.

Yup, they even appear at EPC, but to be honest I thought they never were fitted to any car... until now . Part number for the plastic ones is 9197237:

Cheers guys (and girls), and thanks for all the warm welcomings.

I'm really glad I found you all on this forum. A lot of members have sent me messages with the parts, so will probably have that sorted shortly!

The whole reason I pointed it out is because one o the plastic winders is missing the cap that covers the screw. And by the looks of it finding the cap seems more complicated than buying the "upgraded part".

Well, catch up soon. Oh and now that I think of it there is one other part the car is missing, the cover that goes above the exhaust pipe, connected to the metal mesh. I think you guys have one that says VX220 on it. Will be tricky finding the Speedster one...

All the best,

Jake

Thanks mate

I'm in contact with ElizP987 already. If she doesn't have the handbrake I will gladly take yours. Once again thanks for all the support.
