Vx220 Closure!

Having been one of the relatively early VX'ers (and having owned both the NA and the Turbo), I still have great memories of the cars.

I took part on the Hockenheim track days as well as many others (immortalised on YouTube). I have since owned 2 Nissan GTRs Jaguars, Audis etc, and currently have an Audi SQ5 but when people ask which was my favourite it is still the VX (turbo) (yes even over the GTRs). I was going through the loft the other day and found the book they gave out to the early VX owners (The inside track), as well as a fitted dry cover (still intact though I think it might of been used to cover furniture when we were painting once!) I have put the book on ebay as I am told they sell quite well, but it occurred to me that somebody on this site might appreciate it. At  a recent vx220 meal between us 4 of us had bought this book, £60, £80 , £120 £140, mines worth every penny, excelent book, now getting very rare, will be interesting in how much it goes for

All well thanks - looking at retiring now (58 years young) so would have time to maybe get anothger track car (or maybe even use one of the bikes in the garage!). Good to hear that some of the "originals" are still around! The Hock trip was great - always remember the track briefing - when Keith was translating - the summary of the briefing was "don't hit anything", a slightly more relaxed attitude to overtaking for sure!

I think that many of the original owners have the VX DNA in their blood, it’s something they can never shake off. I decided to sell mine back in 2015 after 14 years, & TBH sometimes regret it, but still stick around here and look forward to meetings with old & recent owners.

I too still have the book and, according to my grandson, the only place it’s going is to him😉
