I know only Klassen and the Dutch bloke have 'cracked' the z22se ECU however does anyone know of a cheaper stage 2 SC reflash?

The old Courtenay base map didn't have the rev limit of 6k and I am wondering if anyone has the ability to flash a similar map to a friends ECU we are doing the conversion on? We are happy to pay for the reflash but £900 for OBD and circa £500 - £600 for a Canned tune from another supplier seems a bit ridiculous...

The appeal of OBDtuner for what will be a pretty bog standard stage 2 conversion seems complete overkill for the price of the software.

Any help much appreciated!

Can you not ask Courtenay what it would cost to just remove rev limit?
I ran with their basemap (before they had the rev limit) and besides the usual quirks linked to that mapping, i had no issues with it.

What happens now afaik is that when you bring in the car at CS, they have klasen remotely map the final stage and remove the limit.
If you signon off being fine on the basemap, cutting out Klasens work.

Afaik CS will have you come in if you wanted to use VXR injectors.

So with their basemap you are stuck with the turbo injectors as maximum.

As people start to run lean at peak with those, you may want to ask CS to put the rev limited to 6500, or even 6000.

I would suggest you have a chat with CS on the turbo versus vxr injectors and basemap versus optimized mapping to see what can be done towards your expectations.

I have an ecu with the full Courtenay SC map on it. (Smiley had a copy of that one ;-) ) Rev limit is 6800 if I remember correctly. 249.8 HP on the dyno and fuelling was spot on.

You will need to pair it to your car's immobilizer with OpCom.

If my understanding is correct you want to take an existing ECU binary and put it wholesale on to your friends car as a base map.

MPPS should do that for you if the ECU firmware is standard GMPT (I know nothing of OBD Tuner's adaptions etc.) - Copy the binary from your car, and load it to your friend's ECU. I use v16.
If you have the binary as a file already then it's just an upload.
Then use OpCom to change the immobiliser code.

I have been using MPPS with help from positive_ . The forum discussion is here - http://www.vx220.org...220-ecu-binary/

So far we have compared a few Z22SE maps and he has showed me how to identify map regions and remove the EGR from the map.
If we had a SC map we could compare that with the GM ones and perhaps learn more, but I know such things are other people's IP so they will wish to guard it.

positive_ has been very generous to me, but has changed cars and may or may not continue developing what he did, so I am trying to get my head around it all so I can do some meaningful changes myself and help others.

I thought there was some kind of encryption to the CS maps to stop you copying and transferring. But I could well be wrong!

If there was encryption on the binary i'm not sure how the PCM would decrypt the binary when it is loaded in.
I cannot speak to CS, but most tuners rely on people not knowing how to read and interpret these things rather than through protection.

The interpreting part is still my bugbear - I want to change throttle response to signal.
