Having taken Vix out of storage at the weekend and done some fixing (oil, filters, plus fitted new gaskets to fix leak @ oil filter...Mrs B now happy to have no oil on drive...), I prepared to take existing wheels off to fit onto refurbed ones.

Large crack round the tread of one of the fronts.  I then had a look at dates of manufacture.  Fronts both dated 2010 and rears 2013.  Time for new tyres - all 4 being the original fitment Bridgestones.

My local CostCo is great....fantastic service from them, so happy to buy tyres from them.

So, went for 195/45 x 17 Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 for the front and standard size 225/45 x 17 Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 for the rear.

Vix is for general road use only, including commute now the weather is better, so hopefully these will be just fine and dandy.

Asymmetric 5 got really good reviews so you won't be far wrong with those. I looked at them too but because they don't come in 16s I didn't go for them. Shame you couldn't have them on the front too.

in the end I went for AD08R and I've been very impressed. Not driven yet in torrential rain but they were better than I expected in the damp. The dry grip is really exceptional and has made the car feel much more pointy and go kart like than the previous pirelli tyres that were fitted. Probably the biggest difference I've felt to the car in terms of handling/performance since buying it.
