Ah right. Was worrying it was pump on way out. Just to be clear I didn’t push the start button ,, was just the first stage key in and lights on
Did think maybe some crud in fuel line getting sucked thru as it sounded like a scraping of pump intervals on metal.

in that case then your fuel pump was perhaps hot, this can happen if you run low on fuel
You have to also remember that these cars are 15 to 20 years old now and fuel pumps are starting to fail, Spitfire Engineering do a replacement unit.

Yeh did spot that on a forum search. Is there anywhere that would fit the pump. Really don’t fancy it 😂

Don’t worry about, these cars make all sorts of weird noises, but you’ll know when something is really wrong. Just wait ‘til the clutch spring fails...

Simply designed to help bring the clutch pedal back to the top...
When it snaps... you'll crap yourself as it makes an almightly thwack as it hits the bulkhead, making you wonder WTAF was that?!

Or in my case hitting my leg, resulting in a stream of blood down my shin. It also ensured my biscuit seats became a shade more poo coloured.
