I was a member of a kit car site and they had this cool Google map showing where everyone was located which was really cool.

Doesn't have to be accurate obviously just town location or village, would be interesting and also useful if people want to go out for a blast.

Cheers

This has been discussed before and the general consensus was that it just creates a map of VXs for thieves.  Perhaps in the premium only area though it could work?

We used to have one when the site had additional static pages rather than just the forum pages and until Google changed their maps API that broke the integration.

Never bought into the it's a map for VX thieves theory. Nobody in their right mind would steal one of these things (unless it was by accident like Annie's VXR) and nobody is going to add a pin for their exact address, rather than just their town which can largely be gleaned by just looking at the site on a desktop browser/skin, especially if they're currently residing in Gotham. :D

Without root access to the server and database, there's no way to add any static pages to the site so I guess if you really want a map, it'll have to be something on Faecesbook, if that has the functionality.

Yea nothing specific just within say 10 miles of where you live if you are worried.

It's great for hooking up for local blasts.

Is FB the best place for this then?
UK and Europe would be great :)

Why not just be more specific in your location details.

Or put posts up saying meet in area XYZ in the meets and events forum.

It’s a start & better than ignoring location or merely putting U.K. when filling in your profile

Yea absolutely but I'm talking about easy access to a 1 click map that just shows users on a map.

Rather than have to click on lots of profiles to find someone near you.

Not sure how that works to be honest.
Was just a thought as would be interesting to see where the Cars are in the UK.
Maybe it's just me lol...

That's the point though - if people dont want to share their location, they wont want to put it on the map
