Had the car out at the weekend, all fine.

Went to start it this morning - turned the key, everything fine.  Pressed the button, fired then the whole thing died mid start.  Tried turning the key off and back on, nothing.  No dash lights, nowt.

Alarm went off, wouldnt stop.

Thought maybe the immobiliser had killed the car and my keyfob battery was dead... got the spare, nothing.

Went and bought new batteries, tried bother keys... nowt.  The alarm wont even register a key press (i.e. no lights or reaction of any kind when you press the fob)

The most the car will do is click slightly from the pax side dash.

What the f*ck?

Loose battery terminal cable?  Or could the battery be on the way out?

Something quite fundamentally wrong there. As said loose terminal connections , chassis connections. Do have a volt meter to check your battery?

Standard VX alarm or aftermarket?

As the original alarm and pressing the fobs will not influence the starting of your car at all...

(that is handled by the immobiliser chip in your key)

Check battery voltage & connections.

Aye after taking a step back from it, it seems likely that the battery has probably become disconnected.  Hopefully, anyways...

I'll have a look tomorrow.
