An original Thorney Motorsport.co.uk business card. Black with green thorn design. Yellow and white type.

This business card has the original Dunsby Road address and names John Thorne as Managing Director.
It also carries his original email address.

Although it’s seen better days it represent a unique opportunity to own a tiny piece of VX220 memorabilia. It’s your chance to connect with VX history. Relive the excitement of all those who, with hope in their hearts and money in their pockets travelled to Thorney Motorsport Milton Keynes in the expectation of more power and hard tops that fitted.

Ha ha. I remember when I was a newbie here and he was promising to build me an engine with 400 ft/lb, thank Christ I didn't go near him.

My friend has just taken his Mclaren to him and was fairly satisfied with the work done, early days though.

What for?

I had no contract, I gave a months notice and was owed 3 days holiday so said I was taking them on the last 3 days of my notice and he said I couldn't take them and he wouldn't pay me for them so I called in sick.

In the years I worked for him I worked 1000s of hours overtime including many race weekends away form home without pay or time off in lieu. The only time I had of sick was when I had a Sinus operation so I thought sod it I'm taking them.
