What Double Sided Tape For The Roof Rubbers

My oem double sided tape that holds the front and rear rubber to my windshield and rollbar cover is starting to let go in places.

I tried some from the DIY that should hold a letter box to a wall, but it hardens up over time, then is useless.

I need some advice on what exact double sided tape to use that will hold up over time.

The rubbers themselves are in good order. No need for fresh rubber.

I've tried a few over the years, but don't recall 3M. Before the Frolic, I applied a seam of one of the many tube adhesives and it appears to be doing the trick.

Not a big fan of using adhesive, where oem is some type of double sided tape.

Typically automotive grade 3m tape is used... But it can be quite hard to find.

Usually you want an acrylic tape like something like 3M 06386 which has 1 side optimised for bonding to bodywork (paint, etc) and 1 side for bonding to other materials (GRP, plastic, etc.)

Don't forget to get some 3M 06396 adhesion-promotor too to wipe down both parts and help the tape adhere.

Can usually be obtained from US Ebay sellers and if you use the Ebay shipping you at least don't get hit afterwards with extra import taxes.
