Can you PLEASE remove the extension restriction when using IMG tags?

I can add a link to an image hosted on another forum and it shows in the preview 100% but when I click post it errors that it doesnt support the extension.

filename (in this case) is http://stuff/2019-10...-12-jpg.253223/

no worries if you cant but makes posting pics a lot easier (maybe only for me but....)

Thanks

Easy. Use the proper link direct to the image itself, not a link to an external HTML page or that masquerades as what looks like a folder name.

You've got a silver VX, the pic will be invisible anyway. :P

lol that is the only link available, there is no "direct" URL to the image.

"stuff" is not a valid domain name

it wasnt supposed to be, was only trying to show the filename and why it borks the extension check. would the whole URL be beneficial?

Think it's the same thing from onedrive, would be nice if that worked.

That link works for me BTW, (ie I see the silver VX).

It works as a link but not an embedded image

Your pictures have been added to the rmsmotoring forum as an attachment.

The exforo engine that hosts the forum software adds a random number as the file extention, and uses that to protect the images against embedded use.

That is why it works when using that link even with that weird number directly in a browser, but not as embedded image code in other locations like this forum.
You will have to re-upload all your images to a service that will provide embedded use of it.

imgur.com for example.

yes but it works perfectly in preview, so seems to be a simple file extension block on post.

I have seen the same behaviour in other forum engines where preview does not fully reflect embedded result.

The exforo engine does not allow you to use embedded content from their location on attached pictures.

It does for it's static content:
