Cheers from Finland. I bought my Speedster a week ago and now decided to introduce myself to thee community. So the car is an 2001 2.2 Speedster (n.0794) in Europa Blue, one of the few imported to Finland new. Car has only about 25 000 km on it. The car has some modifications by previous owner including Tullet exhaust, including precat pipe, cold air intake, Turbo Ears, rear spoiler and a gated shifter cover (Not sure if this has been a original add on). One of the most interesting features of the car is that it has fabric seats, which I haven't seen in any other speedster on sale. wheels on the car are ATC DTCs in silver that I really like.

I have now driven 60km with the car and I totally love it. But winter is coming fast in Finland, so I have had only a few dry days to drive it and we only have a few hours of day light. This means I now have to probably wait until may or so...  After a week of owning, a couple of questions have emerged. Firstly Is it normal or common to have kinda lot of leakage to the front light buckets? Is there an easy fix to it? Secondly what are normal temperatures in a vx/speedster? Mine stays at a steady 89-91C while moving but if I am longer still the heat starts to rise to over 100C. And lastly what kind of modifications do you recommend on doing first?

An so to the not so interesting topic, myself . So I am a 21 year old petrol head from Southern Finland, my daily is a 2005 Astra G Coupe with 2.2 ecotec as well, that I have now had for 2 years. I also own a part of a BMW e36 endurance race car, that I use with my team to compete in 6h Endurance racing cup in Finland.

Water in the lights is normal and difficult to get rid of. You may try to take lights out and seal all openings with e.g. glass bond adhesive or just forget about it

Steady temperature is 88-89 during driving, it is not recommended to exceed 105 deg in general to avoid damage to the piston rings. Solution is pro-alloy radiator + 2 fans and you will forget about overheating

Modification is to your interest, dependent on what do you want to do with you car. It's probably wise to fit large fuel tank and at one point or another you will start thinking about supercharger.

Also suspension is essential and I would advise to get oversized roll bar at some point.

Thanks for the info about the temperatures. I will probably fit in the better radiator and fans during winter. I won't probably do much fit the headlights since they dry pretty fast. But it is a shame fitting a sc in Finland is nearly impossible since finnish MOT is a bitch and the eaton doesn't have TüV...

My experience (from Norway) is that no one really knows the car and how it suppose to be original.

And if it is really so strict in Finland, you have number of Dbilas solutions which I believe are TUV certified.
