Removing Glued Spoiler

HI, my rear turbo style spoiler has kinda bad paint job and kinda wanted to get it resprayed. I am also installing full clear bra on the car and it would be much better if the spoiler was off. It has the 3 bolts but it has also been attached with some kind of adhesive. What would be the best way to remove the spoiler from the clam? Dental floss? And how to get the adhesive out of the clam as carefully as possible?

To remove the adhesive I would try a good tar and glue remover like just the tonic from autobrite spray on leave to work for a short time then agitate with a brush may have to repeat this process a few times depending on what adhesive was used.

A toffee wheel maybe for the adhesive

Thanks, I will probably try to flosh it out today and hope it not somekind of overkill glue

Before trying any chemicals I would just try warming the area around one end of the spoiler and the bodywork to which it is attached to see if the glue softens enough to allow the spoiler to gently separate, if it does then slowly travel along the spoiler peeling off.  A hairdryer is the ideal tool as it will not get too hot.  It's amazing how many glues become really soft with a bit of warmth and will easily let go!

Sounds like sikaflex to me. I have canards stuck on mine that need to come off....

Seems like the glue is actually silicone adhesive that is known for been designed to only one thing, never letting go... Lets see what i am going to do
