No cctv. I’ll be electrifying the gates soon and adding cctv.

Lucky for me the local farmer came and scooped to all to one side for a bottle of red.

We have a lane near here that always has it done. I'd love to catch them to see what type of people they are.

It may be a bit mucky, but if you havent already sift through it for some evidence.

Had similar happen to neighbours, low and behold we found a delivery note for where the house refurbishment was taking place and where the trash and rubble had come from. The local council estimate that for each fly tipping about 90% have that kind of evidence, its all about prosecuting is the problem. Or do as we did we loaded up the trash and took it back from whence it had come from.

Unfortunately, it was pouring down and the farmer moved it to the side. I think the council will look through all the stuff for any address etc. It may contain asbestos, so it’s never a good idea to rummage through it.

The local council estimate that for each fly tipping about 90% have that kind of evidence, its all about prosecuting is the problem. Or do as we did we loaded up the trash and took it back from whence it had come from.

For over twenty years I've waged a one man battle against fly-tipping at the small car park on the moorland above the house.  I've caught umpteen by sifting through the rubbish and finding the address from where it's come.  Initially the local council showed zero interest in pursuing matters and I had to do it through either the Police or the Environment Agency.  Environment Agency were best because they have better powers than the police, they pursue the registered owner of the vehicle not the driver if you're lucky enough to get a reg. ( I have often managed that because I see them going past the house and so I set off in hot pursuit)  so it's difficult for someone to muddy the waters by caliming they don't know who was driving.  Eventually the Environment Agency decided they would only prosecute large scale industrial dumping so that left the police who were not much cop, but by then the council were starting to come on side.

On one occasion I finally caught someone I'd been after for three years in the act but the council wouldn't prosecute because they decided it was mainly 'biodegradable waste.  There have been occasions where I've bagged rubbish, returned it to the address it's come from and just slung it back over the wall late at night.

So I've always got spare rubber gloves and a face mask in the car to sift through anything I find up there, although the dumping has decreased dramatically - it may be because word gets around, that was certainly the case with two brothers who are locals who were dumping up there.  I pursued them relentlessly after one of them deliberately drove his vehicle at me causing me to have to literally dive for my life out of the way as he accelerated at me just before he missed mowing my dogs down by inches.

There was a TV prog about it recently - main offenders were travellers - who'd have guessed?

I would add that many people don't know how travellers 'work'.  If you get a visit from them touting matresses or offering work or anything else, what they are also doing is scouting out the lie of the land.  They're looking for anything that's insecure or can be stolen and they will 'case' all the properties in the area - on some pretext or other while gathering information - that will include suitable places to dump rubbish. This information is then passed on to others. Taking the vehicle reg of anyone who calls or who gives you cause for concernand reporting it to the police as a suspicious vehicle can help to some degree but everything will be in order and they will just make excuses for being there, but at least they're warned that they've been noticed and people are on the alert.  I'm aware of one occasion where it was a smartly dressed woman in a brand new car, allegedly cold calling about double glazing and conservatories.

Whoever does thjis, regardless of race, colour or religion, is just a scumbag. End of. It's about time the authorities started to really clamp down on anti-social behaviour and I'm a big fan of asset seizing - so, any vehicles, equipment used in the act, or anything that could reasonably be found to have been bought with the ill gotten gains from the act, should be seized and sold, and the proceeds put into a fund for cleaning up the mess.  That'll screw the bastards up eventually!

Low life is too good a name for them. Taking their vans etc and flogging em is a bloody good idea. Love to see the look on their faces.
