Vinyl Wrapping Trailer Advice Please

I believe a few people on here are in the sign writing business but not sure who they are and if you do wrapping as well.

I've got a box trailer, I've had for about 10 years that I use for taking my VX to track days and bought it 2nd hand. So it had some decals on the side. I never got round to taking them off and its always bugged me. I was thinking that with vinyl wrapping being readily available for a few hundred pounds, that I should wrap it.

I was thinking of wrapping it in red to go with the car, ideally it would have some kind of decal VX related down the side, possibly a silotte in black of a VX, can anyone on here do this ? Or is it really expensive, when you add extra colours to the wrap ?

The trailer sides are 1.58m trim to trim and I know the film usually comes in 1.52m widths, so was thinking of a small section at the bottom in black. The trailer sides are about 5m long and it only has the 2 sides and front as the rear is the ramp.

If you find the right business it's not that expensive, the decal is printed onto the vinyl, where are you?

Your talking about £150ish for vinyl (5-7yr)

if your doing it yourself do it in sections rather than one piece.

Surface needs to be prepped.. all decals, glue etc taken off and every nook and cranny cleaned.

An alternative way is to paint with a sponge radiator roller which can be easier with good results

Thanks for the reply, that's not a bad idea, as I thought the side panels where some kind of aluminium composite panel until I cut a big section out of the middle to make the large door. Then I discovered it was painted wood.

I was just concerned that I didn't want it to look like a hand painted DIY job and these modern vinyls look so good. As airways lots of prep to get stickers off and 10years of road grime. Any ideas what type of paint to use ?, Would I undercoat etc first ?

Or alternatively if I did the vinyl you said do it in sections not one piece, do you mean lay it down in section ie start from the center, folded back, peel off and apply.

Have you got any VX220 decals on your system, any ideas what could look good. ?

I'd fit a life size profile of the batmobile or a 555 rallye Impreza on it.

But it might increase the risk of theft...

To reduce the risk of theft why not something like 'live crocodile transport', a snappy idea I think
