The Evora was a great drive, but I just never felt it was mine. Constant questions about it and people always noticing you, ultimately become very tiresome. I just felt I could never drive enthusiastly because everyone was watching. I like to have a play with cars and fettle a bit, but never got to do much with it TBH, it was just a bit too flash for everyday use.
I sold the Evora and got a banger for my daily drive. I started having thoughts about Exige S3.
I've gone back and forth with this. I wanted something to fit in a garage. But a bit more comfy. Something I can take the roof off. And then it occurred to me. What about a VX220. It's the same size inside as the Exige, will fit in a garage and the roof comes off. It has awesome low rev performance. It's s super car quick without looking like it costs stupid money.
I often look on pistonheads for cars when a saphire black Vx220T came up locally. Its a 06 With less than 30K on the clock. Its needs a few things doing to it so a deal was done last weekend.
Absolutely loving it. I've started fixing some of the faults now we are in "Lock down". Cleaned up the hood, Fixed a couple of the light switches, fitted a DAB aerial for the radio, aligned the drivers window. And tidied up the dash. Currently trying to fix the central locking. So fitted new relays in the CDL module, but sadly someone has damaged the drivers door lock and so need to get a new one of those. The solenoids are now working off of the remote, but not working on the driver door, because a plastic pivot pin has been snapped off on the door latch.
Plenty of other jobs to do on it to make it perfect,
So yes. I have been desperately trying to register here, but struggling due to my email previously being used. Eventually found my old username in a email search.
2006/7 I was so close to owning a black VX220T with red and black leather. Its taken me 13 years a few car changes and a lot of life changes, but I'm finally in said car. Stealth Performance! I can enjoy driving again!
PS. I am after a replacement Hazzard warning switch. If anyone has one to sell, give me a shout.
Cheers Nik.

I have also purchased some Lotus Europa S Alloys. I know the front tyres are a pig to get hold of, but have always liked the look of them.
Anyway. I was looking at the chassis number in the window the other day and thought how sad it isnt one more. My chassis is 7999 anyway it turns out my car is the last VX220 to come off the production line. So I am thinking I need to keep the car relatively standard.
