I believe its part of the ECU so it might be a case of deactivate it rather than remove it. Drop Peter of dutch software fame a line to see if he knows.

Nah, would very much surprise me if Peter of OBD can, or will programm that out.
Why do you actually want to disable the immobiliser? If the keychip bothers you you can simply tape the chip onto the immobiliser module in the steering collumn...
(If you want to swap an ecu that is a whole other story.)

Ow, so you just need an Opcom to see what the problem is and possible re-link your immobiliser.
(You're not the first with an immobiliser error after a dead battery / jump start... )

you can do it , but it is better to reflash it .
