Hazard Lights/alarm Going When Driving

Got my daughters car on the road today, new battery and all great, but, when you drive it, the hazard lights are flashing. I'm fairly certain this is the alarm flashing the lights (the alarm horn was disconnected before we bought it).

Its battery went flat before could this have effected the alarm system in any way?

Any ideas welcome.

Try listening for the click-click, you should be able to locate the component that's the culprit. Obviously if it's coming from the alarm unit then that's the offender.

Not the hazards. Starts when you open a door and then goes on for a short while and then off. Its definitely alarm related.

I had this happen.  Bizarrely it only happened in the vicinity of the town of Holmfirth!!  Never did get to the bottom of it, but they'd just built a new Tesco and I was told it had a new fangled wifi security system.  So maybe it was like a super duper doorbell!?

I get this with mine. It's usually the battery in the remote that needs changing then you can turn it off

Yes this, try another remote  pod, or go right back to basics and take terminals off battery, put back on and do reset with existing remote pod

Do they go off when driving and presssing remote pod? This will determin if it is the remote or more to do with alarm related issue

Mine used to go off silently all the time, when I first got it. Turned out one of the cables to the rear of the siren had dissolved so whilst I'd get a visual flash of the indicators to say it was armed/disarmed I got no noise from it all and I'd always jump in the car thinking it was disarmed only for the indicators to start frantically flashing away as I was groping around trying to get to the remote control to disarm it. I fixed the cable to restore power to the siren and therefore sound but found the best thing was to never bother arming it in the first place.

If you had a flat car battery, recharging it or replacing it will have reset and re-armed the alarm so you'll need to disarm it with the remote.

It's possibly also the alarm control unit that's fuggered. That's the black box inside the dash void, roughly in front of the passenger seat. Not sure whether just unplugging that altogether would solve the problem or whether that might introduce any other electrical weirdness with the lights (but luckily it wont immobilise the car in our case); easy to try though.

Noticed that when the new battery was connected, there wasn't the usual beeping that required the remote to be used to disarm it, so that could mean the units 'fuggered' (techie has always been so eloquent). Put new batteries in the remote though just in case and my daughter (its her car) tells me all is well now. 

So somehow we did it!

Ps You can tell I've changed batteries a few times on VX's, got this one out, new one in and all the area back to normal in under 10 minutes!
