My VX220 n/a has been off the road for a couple of years now but it's time to get it up and running again. I always went to Top Gear Automotive in Wolverhampton for servicing and MOT's but while I've been off the road Top Gear have shut up shop.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a decent trustworthy company I can use in the Wolverhampton/West Midlands area for my servicing and MOT please?

Thanks in anticipation

HPE Auto in Bromsgrove, he works on Lotus and Vx’s, I’ve used him a couple of times now, seems to know his stuff.

I heard that the guy from Topgear Automotive still does mobile work, not sure if anyone on here would have his contact details though.

Gav @ Unit 5 in Burton is great but may be too far for you?

TGA didn't do MOT's, he sent it to the unit immediately to the left of his so could use someone else to do the service... or do it yourself... and then MOT at the same place as he used?

Thanks for all the replies everyone.

Chris - Unfortunately Leeds will be a bit too far to go.

Denno - Bromsgrove not too far and I was told that Martin at TGA was doing some mobile stuff but having got in touch he doesn't want the job.

Foxy - Burton not too far thanks.

Ormes - The garage next door to TGA got in touch with Martin for me but he's not interested in doing any work apparently but I've booked the MOT with them, they say they can do the service too but I'm not sure I want them messing around with a car they're not familiar with.

If Burton isn’t too far, it’s a no brainer to take it to Gav (Unit 4 Vehicle Services - not Unit 5, doh!). He’ll sort your MoT too (I’ve never had a fail ;)

Hi I contacted Martin in December about whether he was mobile or working within the garage next door to his old unit and he told me he had retired and was not working on any vehicles..

It's just a bog standard n/a. Bought as a mid life crisis toy when I was 50. I'm 62 now and haven't been able to get into it for a couple of years thanks to arthritis but thanks to a couple of new hips I'm hoping for a few more years of fun in it!

You are not too far from MMG in Ashbourne for servicing etc.
