Clutches - Sc.

Getting that little chip you get sometimes as a warning that it might be coming to an end. It's original. 58k miles. 

What do i need to buy? 

-Clutch plate and cover

-Servo thingy

-Lightened flywheel

What is the C20LET thing all about? what compatibility? If its the same as a Saab 2.0 then i'm out.

Just buy it all from CS?

-Clutch plate and cover - C20LET clutch. Cheaper, holds more torque, and has the same feel as the OEM clutch. Fits the standard flywheel

-Servo thingy - Clutch slave cylinder / release bearing. Make sure you go for a good quality one

-Lightened flywheel - If you want.. TTV or something. Just don't go too light (sub 5kg) and there are no real downsides

what are the downsides?

My gearbox was singing afterwards for about half a year.

I guess not 100% balanced or something. It went away on it's own.

It also takes getting used to on pedal feel.

i got clutch and fast road clutch and slave in stock bud

i do the c20let 4x4 clutch kit for which is good for anything a M62 charged car can throw at it, i've also got Gm, sacks & luk slaves all in stock. 

ttv flywheels in stock too should you want one. 

I put a lightened flywheel on mine just before SC'ing and I don't think it made a huge difference to the feel of clutch engagement/use. It rev's more freely but not to the point it is unusable. My wife is still happy to drive it and she is the first to voice distaste for something if it's slightly more effort! Other than that, the slave cylinder (definitely replace this) and clutch can be kept oem. The 'uprated' one from CS is just a slightly better clutch from another model (guessing the C20LET 4x4 ). I had little trouble when fitting mine to the point I'd say it was fairly easy but time consuming. It was quite a nice project to do as there were various stages to take apart/refresh/renew and we all know you love a bit of project creep. 

Sachs clutches are very good, so are the TTV lightened flywheels

Dont buy a Courtenay uprated one. Mine exploded after just a 1000 miles on a straight so wasnt even using it at that time!
