Hi, I've been reading about the new E10 fuel that's going to replace E5. The difference is that it has 10% ethanol rather than 5%.

Can the 2.2 litre normally aspirated VX engines run on it?

My Vx is a 2005 model?

Much as the question grates, some of us don't use fcukface and haven't had the dubious pleasure of reading those 4,789 similar questions.

The half dozen times on here has been more than sufficient for me.

Couldn't agree more, don't understand the obsession with a data harvesting platform

That's exactly what it looks like to me. It's made the world into some skanky crack whore addicted to it and willing to do anything to get a quick fix to feed the habit.

It's not like I some kind of luddite. I worked in social media when it was still called "new media" in the 90's.

Couldn't agree more re Faceshite, however, what's stopping people from just using a search engine and typing E10 and VX220?  I got 201,000 responses when I just did it and I ain't a fooking rocket scientist or that smart!

My point was re my original response, stop being lazy and at least have a go at searching on the internet, and then if still confused, by all means come on here and helpful people will be, er helpful. But to not even try to help yourself, jeez, what next, .ORG offers free arse wiping services because people can't be bothered to try to help themselves?

Not trying to be a tw@t, just really fed up at the current trend for people not being arsed to even try to help themselves, I've even seen the "can someone tell me xxxxx as I can't be arsed to look it up myself" post...

Only ever found this forum helpful by the way, and hope it stays that way, but sometimes...

Good grief!

All he wanted to know is 'Yes', it can be used or 'No' one has to use E5.

Simple question!

Yes - for which he could have gotten the answer in 0.014 seconds from any internet browser search if he/she/they/them/whatever could have been arsed!!!!!

In many forums some people are “contributors” and some are “takers”

60 posts in 14 years, hmm?

I use E10 for normal driving and commuting with no perceptible difference. However, for peace of mind, i fill my tank with E5 when i use the car on track.
E10 has been available for ages where i live in France.
It is said here that they dont use a lower octane gas to mix with ethanol and consequently, the octane index is above the minimum required at about 96 / 97

That applies to life in General, but we're a community surely and the number of posts someone makes shouldn't matter, surely?

I suggested on FB to make it a sticky of some description after the relentless barrage of the same question over and over. It now seems to appear at the top of the page from what I can see?

But I agree with the above, there has become a lazy attitude to working stuff out nowadays, just post it and let someone else work out the answer for me type of approach. This E10 topic has become almost a focal point for this kind of behaviour as explained above Google VX220 and E10 and the answer appears like magic, yet there is this modern era approach to 'I will get someone else to do this for me' that I can understand why it grates.

Just to emphasis this point, if you click New Posts on the forum, on the same first page about 10 posts down is a thread with the same title!
