Just announced by www.motorsport-events.com New venue I believe (except for one trial date back in March) I'm booked :D :D Any members in that neck of the woods that fancy letting their VX stretch its legs without speed cameras, boys in blue, on-coming traffic etc - drop me a message saying you're coming.

Can you tell us a bit about the track? Is it covered with stones for example?

This is the 4th incarnation of the Keevil Circuit. Gone, unfortunately are the 100 mph lap 1.9 and 2 mile circuits, due to track surface and safety problems, but her we have a demanding 1.3 mile circuit that has a bit of everything, hairpin, chicane, long constant radius bends and a flat out throttle-against-the-stop-straight. So its not all bad news. After the pre-season shakedown tests were held here in early March, the feedback from the riders was good, very good in fact. Keevil has been a part of North Glos Road Racing history after first being used in 1972 and we have held over 40 race meetings at the Wiltshire venue. As ever with the airfield based circuit, spectator viewing is excellent, the spectator areas stretch around over a mile from the Steeple Hairpin to Village. From almost any point you can drive right up to the fencing to watch all the action.

From your posting I assume when you mentioned "riders" that this was a bike meeting? When I spoke with Motorsport Events yesterday and they said they haven't as yet finalised the circuit layout for the day. Their meeting there in March used a 3 mile circuit but they reckon they will reduce that to something around 2.2 miles or so. It's likely to be a fast circuit with nice sweeping corners but that might change

As regards stones, they had a small problem with one bit of the track but will ensure that bit is well swept before the day. Other than that the airfield is still in regular use and so tends to be stone-free. The surface is supposed to be in very good order.

To be honest I've been waiting for the dates to be announced because one of the guys who was at Hullavington earlier this month absolutely raved about Keevil and that's why I booked it :D

Can't wait! :D :D :D :D
