I attended the hillclimb school at Harewood yesterday, and Jamie was right. It was fantastic :) There were 35 cars, most of which were from the Caterham Academy... they've got a hillclimb in a fortnight, so were along to learn the ropes. I won't attempt to recount a lap, Jamies reports would put me to shame, besides I can't remember the names of most of the corners :o :P It was very well organised, with 1 accompanied run and 3 unaccompanied runs each in the morning and afternoon. The last half hour was a free for all, so I got another 2 runs in. It's a very difficult course to learn quickly, but once you get over the shock, the VX feels very nimble and very well planted. Traction was great out of the slower corners. Like most good courses I've come away thinking about all the places where I could have made up a few tenths by braking later, carrying a little more speed through the apex, or accelerating harder. I used the secondhand on my wristwatch to get a rough idea of the time on my last run, not very accurate I know, but managed about 72 secs dead. Which makes Jamie's sub-70 times look impressive! Imnotworthy And Jamie, as predicted, I'm keen to see what time I could get on a competitive day. It would be good to get a few more VX's along later in the year.

I'm booked on for the 14th August school - anyone else going? I've got the palmer day on the 8th August so hopefully will have got all my spinning out of the way before harewood! I noticed on the website that it's only £3500 for a corporate day for up to 30 people - could be a cheap vx220.org day out if we could get enough people to come this far north without oxygen? Jamie when are you competing at harewood next? - I wouldn't mind coming to watch to see how it's supposed to be done! Imnotworthy

Excellent news Heather, I sure you will enjoy it :D A corporate day would be great, however it is a fair old way for some of our southern number to travel but if anybody is interested I'd be glad to organise it I am competing this Sunday (8th June), let me know if you plan to come along Jamie
