I arrived yesterday morning at a rather damp harewood but the skies were clearing after a wet track fro the first practice run (74.48) by the second practice run the track was virtually dry (70.19).

The sun came out during the lunch hour and stayed until after the first timed run (69.49 - New PB :D ) however the sky began to darken around 2.30 and then we had an almighty thunder and lightning display that lasted nearly 30 minutes, I sought refuge in my car, I've never been stationary in such heavy rain before, all I can say is that i'm glad I keep my VX garaged as there was some ingress (my car has already had new roof/door seals).

After the rain had died off to a spit we were offered our remaining runs, people who didn't want to take the risk or knew there was no chance of improving on their dry time went home early, I on the other hand was looking forward to trying the VX in the rain, the last two runs were completed in pretty quick succession. 2nd timed run - sodden track with a lot of standing water and some tail out antics from yours truly (79.59) 3rd run 50 mins later after hardly any xtra rain and a brisk wind drying the hill gave a 74.42. Felt lots of confidence in the wet, you don't lose any of the VX's quick wittedness at the helm and the supple setup still transmits the same adhesion messages from the rear.

All in all a very enjoyable day and I managed to finish 2nd in my class (of 5 entries) I beat a VVC Caterham, an R300 Caterham and a "Carcraft Cyclone"

I'm off to Anglesey next Sunday (15th June) for a Sprint there - I'll let you know how it goes.

cheers

Jamie

Nice one Jamie. Harewood would certainly have been interesting in the wet :o Although, as you've said, the front end grip on the VX is still excellent in the wet. I'm sure your ABS was working overtime braking into the Esses though :) Great time on your first run too! Has the guy with the Sport 190 been back? or have you frightened him off for good? :P I'll get a non-race licence sorted once I'm back from Issoire, and do a couple of events before the end of the season. Although, I don;t think I'll be giving you much competition if your times get any faster! Gary
