What To Use On Carbon Fibre Parts To Renew

OK so I've go myself a carbon fibre centre console that is pretty scratched up. I've managed to wet n dry it to 99% but now need to make it look shiny again. My questions are: 1. What should I use to do this lacquer in rattle can from Halfrauds?? (Probably not!!) 2. Back to the bodyshop for a clear coat? 3. Or is there anyone here that can re-do the gel coat? You'll be fine with rattle cans, build up gradually with several light coats. You may find that if you have sanded through the topcoat into the carbon in some parts and not in others, the first couple of coats the lacquer will sink in and look matt in those bits. Let each coat dry a bit in between, persevere and it will end up fine

Might want some UV protector on it too? Otherwise it will start going yellow!

Last time I checked, lacquer wasn't UV protective. You can get seperate UV protective lacquer that goes underneath the final lacquer layer.

Yeah think Seb is right..Although I may not bother with UV protection as it's not going to be in direct light all that much..

just use a good 2k lacquer. Most bodyshops will only charge you 20 quid for doing it.

Yeah think I am going to go with that tbh. Buy the time I have bought materials myself may as well off had it done professionally.

Halfrauds Rattle Cans aren't pertol resistant it's utter poop! IMO..
