Hi all

I'm selling the hardtop roof from my Calypso Red, 54 plate VXT which I broke quite spectacularly in Oct 2006. Now that I've accepted that I'll not be able to fund a replacement and need the space and the cash from selling, it's time to let go.

The roof's been in storage since my precious passed on and is in near-perfect condition (no scratches, cracks, dents or even sun fading of the paint.)


The exterior surface, paint, edges & rubber seals are all in excellent, nearly new condition all around, with no tears, splits or deterioration. The headlining fabric is spot-on too.

It's got the headlining-covered windscreen header rail & covers for the rear clamps and I've still got the torx key for the captive torx-head bolts.

The only real blemishes (if you can call them that) are the heads of the captive bolts which are now grey in places where the original black coating has worn off. Not noticeable when the roof is fitted.

The OEM, velcro fastening, canvas-like, black cover/bag has some very minor damage at one corner but this doesn't expose any of the roof at all while it's in.

It's going on eBay (Item 230850783685, scheduled to start on Friday at 6pm).

I've put it on at a Buy It Now price of £550 (+ £25 P&P to mainland UK) but if any of you are interested, let me know and as long as we can sort out payment nice and quickly, I'd rather do the deal on here.

I've also got the soft top which is also in brilliant condition bu I'm not so sure of how much to expect for it.

Thanks wolf. Hope so, it's in great condition.

Just wish I had the readies to have bought DrRock's VXR...or James's beast. Brilliant cars. Bargain! Would have kept the hardtop for either.

Hardtop now SOLD to the very agreeable Eric. I hope it makes all the difference. Happy to see it going to such a good home. Thanks for everyone else's interest too.

Yep - didn't think £550+P&P was greedy. I'm sure they used to go for £700-£800 a few years ago and I'd spotted one go on eBay for £330 (but with damage).

Eric who bought it is one of the nicest guys I've had contact from on any forum, even this one, so I couldn't be happier to see it go to a good home.

Got up at 10:45am, went back to bed at midday and slept til 5. Still felt crap for the rest of the day. Serves me right and in future I'm going to stay well away from .org if I ever get in that state again. :blush:
