Vx220S In Snow + Little Chat About Abs.

Been using mine daily for my 20 mile each way commute. Its fine, only issue was yesterday getting out of my road as its over a speed bump and then a junction to a main road so have no momentum and compacted ICE.. As for ABS I had it disconnected last winter as annoyed me, but reconnected it for the MOT and left it, it is annoying and ice mode comes on all the time but I avoid any kind of hard braking in the ice anyhow..

if your speedo is still working, then it's not the NSR that's the cause.

When I had an intermittent ABS problem my experience was that the the NSR sensor was faulty, but insufficiently so to affect the speedo. My traction control diagnostic didn't show the error either. It was only when on one single occasion the speedo was momentarily erratic that I finally identified the NSR sensor as responsible.

ABS on the VX is borderline dangerous but in fairness in the snow it might assist you in steering to avoid something if you start sliding. I would still prefer to drive with it off. Nothing worse than the dead man's pedal!

It's fixed itself overnight, started it up this morning and all is well. Like you said abs (brakes in general) are rather irrelevant in the snow unless you enjoy uncontrolled sliding everywhere but still. Thanks for all the suggestions though^^. I'm hoping we haven't got too much more of this crap weather, I'm ready for summer evening drives to nowhere again!
