My girlfriend is 5'2" and the only time she drove the car she needed to sit on a pillow to use it to lift her up, and allow her to sit further forward. It all depends on your wife's body, If she has a short body then she might struggle even with the seat further forward on runners! Edit: spelling

I'm only 4'8   and I have never had an issue with driving the VX.  Sometimes I use a big old cushion which helps a lot.

And diable the airbag as in the event of it going off, it will cause horrific damage :(

Air bag must be ok for seat fully forward? That's when your most likely to need it.

Its when you least need it as you wont have had time to accelerate towards the wheel

ETA   Are you the same Village Idiot as on PH? chinky chinky

Yup,,, that's me.... Been on there for donkeys years... And seloc too (although as Alex g on there).... I've only very recently branched out into ruffling feathers on the vx220 forum by innocently expressing an interest in buying a vx220 from a willing seller for a criminally low figure. I'm a witch... Burn me!

I can't; I sent my matches to the Dude with the mountain bike and PC steering wheel so I guess you are safe here.

The problem I see with bringing the seat forward is that it will foul the centre console, not the end of the world, but another consideration

Lmfao!!! Don't know if its possible but rather than moving the runner on the floor, could you reposition the seat on the runner? At a glance it just appears bolted to it, so maybe some extra holes in the mounting plates and bobs ya mothers brother??

My lass can't reach pedals properly and she's 5ft 6! I'm 5,11 & I'd rather be a tad closer when in mood for some racing action.

Cheers. I managed to get away from the office today to have a closer look at one. At 6ft I have a good couple of inches more rearward movement on the runners, so with a bit of fiddling by the men that know, that should allow us to liberate a couple of inches in extra forward movement and still leave room for me.

Guessing you've figured out the answer to your question now, but I'm 5'2 ish with little legs and the seat is as far forward as it goes but is comfy for everyday driving (and sat in traffic driving). A little unusual at first because of the non-adjustable back, but you get used to it.  It's a nicer seating position than the upright Scooby wagon I'm driving at the moment!

i have just sent my wife to have a sit in a VX220.

she says that she struggles to operate the pedals fully with the seat fully forwards. she is just under 5'3".

i am 6', so would need the seat fairly far back.

how easy it is adjust the position of the runners to bring the seat further forwards? i presume you cannot get longer runners to offer a greater range of movement?

cheers

alex

Hi Alex,

Dan here (zed4 on PH and you may know me from BHG Marine in Lymington). I know you work (worked?) at Berthon.

Let me know if you need to see a VX220, got a couple over at my dad's house in Ringwood.

Dan
