Made A Carbon Fibre Tank Cover

Fancied a bit of an upgrade on my Twintex coolant tank cover I bought when I first got the car so this morning I knocked up a different one using an off cut of carbon fibre I had lying around. It's 1mm thick 3k CF in a 2/2 twill and backed with glass cloth. UV stable gelcoat and resin was used so it should stand the test of time. I finished the edges with a push fit automotive edging trim and riveted a terry clip to the underside to help keep it in place. 

Minimal effort required for this easy DIY so quite pleased with the outcome. I may be tempted to make more if the interest is there but wouldn't know what to ask for them. Perhaps give me an idea of what you would be prepared to pay so I can assess if it's worth my while?

looks good,would it not be better to superglue or similar  the clip on instead of a rivet as it spoils the clean look..imo..

Don't think it came from there but yes that looks exactly like what I used. I see they do blue as well.

Yeah might be an idea, I just used what was to hand and didn't think it looked to bad with it showing. Could probably do without one altogether especially if you added some sort of support / spacer under the threaded neck of the bottle so it would clamp it in place when the lid is screwed down.

Could use a black rivet or a stick on zip tie holder and then just zip tie it on to a hose with a permanent or removable zip tie.

Looks really good though and better than the original flimsy one I have. Black plastidipped my coolant tank cover to make that tie in as well as it was all faded.

What do you do with it that means it needs to be stronger?

Doesn't need to be stronger - just meant it will hold it's shape whereas my rrr.2r one is not flat any more. That said it doesn't rattle about on the tank so that's good.
