This is exactly the issue I am having. So is there a bearing in there then that an be swapped out? If it's a case of taking the clam off, I will prob just live with it, only use the door about 5 times a year anyway. You can lift my door up and down a bit. Play in the top hinge bushing or whatever it is. Did try to tilt the hinge slightly so it doesn't drop a little when it opens but couldn't loosen the hinge bolts with the front clam on. Will have to have another look, though I do have a spare door so can use the hinge from that once I've managed to undo the two bolts that fix the door to the side impact beam inside the door. Not had the courage to remove the front clam yet.
